Hobson & Buggs

We are the proud descendants of Michael Hobson, Sophie Hancock-Hobson and later Gabriel Mayo-Hobson and Ephraim and Tennessee Hill-Buggs from Chickasaw County, Mississippi.

The Hobson-Buggs came together as one family as a result of marital unions of four Hobson siblings and four Buggs siblings. In1976, it was decided to join the two families together as one.

Family roots date back as far as the early 19th century with beginnings in Lunenberg, VA. The strength and tenacity of our ancestors enduring the struggles imposed on them through slavery allowed our roots to be strong and widespread.

The family span across 25 states. We have gathered together every even year with the first family reunion in 1954.
