Michael E. Hobson, Sr.
BIO:
Michael Ellison Hobson, Sr was born on July 15, 1841, in Union County, South Carolina. He was not a free person of color. He came to Houlka, Chickasaw County, MS in the Fall of 1850 with slave owners Richard Gilliam Hobson and his mother Cicely Hobson.
He had six sons and three daughters with Sophie Hancock. After the death of Sophie, he married Gabrielle Mayo. To their union four children were born, three boys and one girl.
Michael Hobson, died on May 4, 1924 in Houlka, Chickasaw, MS.
Ephraim Buggs
BIO:
Ephraim Buggs was born in March between 1833 and 1840 in Houlka, Chickasaw County, MS. However, in a later census his place of birth is listed as Alabama. He was not a free person of color. The slave owner responsible for Ephraim being in Chickasaw, MS is Benjamin Bugg who is from Tennessee.
Ephraim married Tennessee Hill in 1862. Their union they had four daughters and four sons.
Ephraim Bugg died on July 11, 1930 in Houlka, Chickasaw, MS.
